Call for Papers


We encourage the submission of original contributions, investigating novel methodologies to build creative AI systems and algorithms, and to explore the relationships between AI and artistic creativity from different perspectives. In particular, authors can submit:

(A) Regular papers (max. 12 + references – CEUR.ws format);
(B) Short/Position/Discussion papers (max 8 pages + references - CEUR.ws format);

Topics of Interest include but are not limited to:

  • - AI role in understanding human creative processes
  • - AI systems able to either assist or produce artistic outputs
  • - Cognitive intelligence and learning for music composing, performing and matching
  • - Evaluation methodologies of AI artistic outputs, and creativity in AI systems
  • - Ethical issues raised by creative AI systems (authorship, integrity, bias…)
  • - Neuroscience, cognitive science and psychology for AI on creativity


ECAI-2024 Transfer:
Authors of rejected papers of ECAI 2024 (main track) can:
1) submit their paper to the workshop by July 11 https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=creai2024
2) fill the following form by July 11 https://forms.gle/QPav5rHVMCuSMhFZ9.
Authors must follow the guidelines of CREAI submissions.

All submitted papers will be evaluated by at least two members of the program committee, based on originality, significance, relevance and technical quality. Submissions of full research papers must be in English, in PDF format in the CEUR-WS conference format that you can download as offline version from http://ceur-ws.org/Vol-XXX/CEURART.zip or at this link if an Overleaf template is preferred.
Submissions should be single blinded, i.e. authors names should be included in the submissions. Submissions must be made through the EasyChair conference system prior the specified deadline (all deadlines refer to GMT) by selecting CREAI as submission track. Discussion papers are extended abstracts that present your favourite recent application work (published elsewhere), position, or open problems with clear and concise formulations of current challenges. At least one of the authors should register and take part at the conference to make the presentation.

Proceedings and Post Proceedings

All accepted papers will be published in the volume series of CEUR-WS. A selection of the best papers, accepted for the presentation at the workshops, will be invited to submit an extended version for publication on a Journal of Artificial Intelligence indexed by INSPEC, Science Citation Index, and MathSciNet.
